What we hear
“The person who built it moved in 2021 and we’ve struggled to keep the site up to date since.”
“We wanted to make some simple updates and ended up crashing the website completely.”
“Our website doesn’t look as good as it did when it was first built.”
“The one person who runs our website isn’t always around, and the rest of the team can’t make updates.”
“Our website is too hard to update, so we end up with out of date information on the homepage.”
“It looks good on a desktop but doesn’t work on a phone, which is what our congregation rely on.”
We hear this all the time. A website built once and handed over will always drift. This is why we offer a subscription that keeps your parish online, rather than an expensive one-off build that breaks.

St Cuthbert’s is our demonstration parish
Everything a parish needs is already there: service times, the weekly bulletin, what’s on, hall hire, people and safeguarding. Designed to work beautifully on desktop, tablet and mobile.
A mockup of St Cuthbert’s home page shown on a desktop computer and a phone. It carries the church’s opening hours and telephone number, its name and crest, a menu of Mass times, what’s on, people, hall hire, news and contact, a welcome headline, a photograph of the church in an arch, and the week’s Mass times along the bottom.

Talk to us about a groupThree months to change your mind
If your new website is not right for your parish, tell us within three months of it going live and we will give you a full refund. We want to be sure the product is right for you.
Book a demo and we will show you how your site would work before you commit to anything. Prices include VAT. The subscription starts on the day your site goes live. Pay monthly by Direct Debit, or yearly by invoice if that suits your treasurer better. Twelve months to begin with, then thirty days’ notice at any time. If you tell us within three months of launch that it is not right, we refund everything you have paid; we then take the site down and send you an export of your content, and your domain stays with you. The design and the underlying code remain ours throughout. Full terms are set out in the contract, which we send before you have to decide anything.
Why we started The Keep
Ant Conlin Founder of The Keep
Ant Conlin founded The Keep after identifying an issue many parishes were having. During covid, when everything a church did suddenly had to work online, he offered to help his local parish sort out their website. It was creaky, awkward to change, and had not kept up with what the parish actually needed it to do.
Fixing that one site was straightforward enough. What was harder to ignore was how many other parishes were in exactly the same position. A site set up years ago by a volunteer who had since moved on. Nobody quite sure who held the password. Hours wasted that were needed elsewhere, and money going out on something that was not really working.
The Keep was set up to provide churches, communities and parishes with beautifully designed websites that don’t cost the earth, can be easily updated by team members, and come with professional backup to help keep them running smoothly.

Founder, The Keep and Brave New Studio
Ant founded The Keep to give churches and parishes websites that are beautiful, functional and genuinely useful to the people who rely on them.
He is also the founder of Brave New Studio, a London creative agency building brands for charities and NGOs who want to punch well above their weight. Recent projects include Movement to Work, Moving Beyond and Common.
Ant has spent over ten years in advertising, branding and marketing, and now uses that experience to advise charities on developing and improving their digital platforms and marketing.
Much of his work is given to tackling youth unemployment, and to helping young people furthest from the job market find a way in.
Questions people ask
The ones that come up most. Anything else, please get in touch.
How long does it take?
About seven weeks from the first conversation to going live. After the initial conversation, we’ll have your site built out in about two to three weeks, which then gives us time to address your feedback before the site goes live.
What if we have an existing site? How do we move over?
Your existing site stays live whilst we work. We build the new one on a private address only you and we can see, and switch it over once you are happy.
Who owns our domain?
You own your content, your photographs and your domain. It’s likely you’ll already have your domain registration set up, which we can point to our hosting servers once you are happy for the site to go live. If you don’t have a domain already, we’ll help you register one in your name so you keep full control.
If you do not know who currently holds your domain, tell us your address and we will look it up and tell you, free, before you have committed to anything. A surprising number of parishes find it is still in the name of a volunteer who left years ago.
What are the payment terms?
There is nothing to pay up front. No build fee, no deposit. Your subscription is £79 a month including VAT, or £870 a year if you would rather pay annually, which works out at £72.50 a month. It starts on the day your site goes live. The design and build work is covered by the subscription, which is why we ask for twelve months to begin with.
What if it is not right for us?
Tell us within three months of your site going live and we will refund every penny you have paid. No argument and no small print about it.
If you do leave that way, we take the site down and send you an export of everything you have put into it: your words, your photographs, your documents. Your domain stays in your name, as it always was. What we keep is the design and the code underneath, which remain ours.
We ask two things in return, and only so the refund is fair on both sides: that someone at the parish has come to the handover session, and that you have given us the content we asked for. We cannot refund a site nobody ever used.
What about email?
We will leave this one to you. We don’t like to interfere with your team emails, as we believe privacy here is key. We also believe that securing an inbox with the likes of Gmail or Microsoft are the strongest options.
See it for yourself
We will walk you through a short demonstration of how your website would look and work, and answer whatever you want to ask. Thirty minutes, no pitch deck, and no obligation. If we are not the right fit we will say so.
